My Resume

A picture of me.

About Me

I'm a software engineer currently working at Apollo Care. I previously worked at ION Group, a leading international fintech company, spending time in both product management and software development. I graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a BS in Computer Science with Highest Distinction. My specialization was Programming Languages, and I am grateful to have learned from some of the best minds in the field at IU. I was also a teaching assistant for CSCI-C 211, IU's introductory computer science course.

I was born and raised in Valparaiso, Indiana, a suburb of Chicago. I now reside in Chicago.

When I'm not programming, I'm probably watching or tweeting about IU sports (go Hoosiers!) or hanging out with my friends.

Interests

My main areas of interest are functional programming, mathematical logic, and philosophy (specifically philosophy of logic and philosophy of mind). I have a growing interest in logic/relational programming.

Skills

I know Racket the best (and it is my dearly beloved language). As a staunch advocate for functional programming and elegant programming language design, I have some qualms with Java, but I have enough experience to feel comfortable working on object-oriented projects, especially in Java. I do not have a ton of experience in Python, but I am actively learning it, and have certainly enjoyed it so far!

I have a solid understanding of web development, as I wrote everything on this site by hand (well, by Emacs1).

I am most comfortable working in a Unix-like environment (Mac or Linux) but I am familiar with Windows. I also am comfortable shell scripting with bash!

1 Interestingly, over the course of developing this website, I have become more fond of Vim as a text editor.

Projects

Most of my time spent programming is dedicated to coursework for the classes I'm taking, but sometimes I'm able to focus on some more extracurricular work, such as:
